Talks

Black coffee, Chekhov and lip gloss…

If you’re wondering what these three have to do with writing page-turning fiction then so did the audience at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Looking out into the packed marquee I spotted many puzzled faces. However, by the end of my speech questions from the floor flew in and afterwards novice writers lined up to tell me how energized and empowered they felt by what they’d heard.

My talks on Reinventing Yourself as a Bestselling Novelist were among the first events to sell out at Edinburgh in successive years. One of the most appreciated elements was that in the question and answer session I gave detailed and specific answers.

I’ve also spoken to audiences at Soho House in London and at the Scottish Book Town Festival in Galloway. And I’ve designed and delivered media training for foreign diplomats who are clients of Marston-Nicholson of the International Business Consultants Group. www.group-ibc.com

In 2008 I led a book group ‘Strangers in a Strange Land’ at the American Library in Paris. www.americanlibraryinparis.org

If you’d like fresh inspiration for your association or writers’ circle, or expert media training tailored to your needs, I am currently accepting engagements.
